Thursday Thoughts on Marketing

Though the chart below that we created below doesn't come close to covering every aspect of marketing and advertising, we wanted to point out some of the major things to consider on a day-to-day basis. First and foremost, Marketing is not an activity to be ignored. You might think you don't need it, but we promise, you do. Whether it's creating digital or non-digital paid advertisements, social media campaigns or simply word-of-mouth, it's a huge part of growing your business and also maintaining your current customer-base. One of the first steps you will need to take is to create an annual marketing plan. This plan will include all or most of your marketing plans for the year, start/end dates, anticipated and actual costs, among others. This plan will be essential in ensuring you stay on track with your plans and aren't just "winging it".

Don't be fooled by the ads you see on tv or the internet. It's not all about pretty colors and beautiful people to catch the eye of the consumer. Marketing is highly strategic and it needs to be handled by someone who is thoroughly trained in the field. You have to know your target audience, what their preferences are, what the ROI on your investments will be and so much more. Without having the knowledge of what you're doing and where to invest your marketing dollars, you risk your money being wasted on endless advertisements that do not grow your business. We want to see your business flourish, so be sure to take every step necessary to ensure that your marketing plan is worthwhile.
